Contents.Personal life Sukanya was named Sukanyarani at birth and she hails from Chennai. Her father Ramesh is a businessman and her mother Bharathi is a homemaker. Having strong support from her mother, Sukanya was trained in at kalakshetra. She was first associated with media programs and from there she established herself as an actor in films. She was one of the leading actress from 1991 to 2001. Sukanya married Sridharan Rajagopalan in 2002 at the United States. Later she got divorced in 2003 and came back to Chennai to resume her acting career from 2003.
